INTRODUCTION

Since mid-1998 I have been building steel string acoustic guitars in my home workshop. To date I have built the dreadnought and jumbo body style exclusively.  At this time I can build to order any of the four principal steel string body styles: concert, auditorium, dreadnought, jumbo, and I also have designed and built original body styles.   I am working with premium hard and soft woods, and have inlaid abalone and pearl in the top, in the fingerboard, and in the bridge.   In the short term I do not plan to build "classical"(nylon string) instruments.

In 1999 I completed a short course in modern guitar building with Charles Fox in Healdsburg, California.  Following that course I have constructed a number of jigs which allow me to carefully control various construction steps and results in greater precision throughout the building process and in the final product.

ORDERING AND PRICING

The amount of time I have to devote to guitar building allows me to build between two and four guitars per year.  To date I have taken a limited number of orders from family and friends.  My guitars are customized to the buyer's specifications.  Options include many different hardwood types, various purflings and bindings, pearl and abalone inlays, etc.  The basic guitar begins in price around $2,000.00, but prices can vary greatly depending on the material and the level of customized trim requested.  Guitars come with serial number and are signed.   If you wish to talk to me about ordering a guitar please contact me at my email address, or phone 719-395-6794.
